What is the Warm Front Scheme?

The Warm Front Scheme was a government initiative launched in 2000 to help low-income households improve the energy efficiency of their homes. It provided grants for insulation, draught-proofing, and heating improvements.

The Transition to the Energy Company Obligation (ECO)

In 2013, the Warm Front Scheme was replaced by the Energy Company Obligation (ECO). The ECO is a government energy efficiency scheme that requires large energy companies to provide funding for energy-saving measures in homes and buildings.

Benefits of the ECO

The ECO offers funding for a variety of energy-saving measures, including insulation, heating improvements, and renewable energy technologies. Its main objectives are to help households reduce energy bills, improve comfort, and reduce carbon footprints.

Eligibility for Funding

If you are a low-income household, you may be eligible for funding under the ECO. To find out if you qualify, you can contact your energy supplier or visit the ECO website.

Not Just for Low-Income Households

The ECO is not limited to low-income households. Homeowners and landlords can also apply for funding to make energy-saving improvements to their properties. The scheme also supports community energy projects, such as solar panels and wind turbines.

Making Homes More Eco-Friendly

By improving the energy efficiency of our homes, we can reduce our carbon footprints and contribute to tackling climate change. The ECO provides an opportunity for low-income households, homeowners, and landlords to make their properties more eco-friendly.
