Solar panel (PV) grants

Solar Panel Grants for Port Talbot

Solar panel technology is an excellent investment for households looking to reduce their carbon footprint while saving money on energy bills. The good news is that the UK government is making solar panel grants available for eligible households to install solar panels in their homes.

Solar Photovoltaic (PV) is a renewable heating system that generates electricity even on cloudy and overcast days, reducing your reliance on grid energy and saving you money on energy bills.

Plus, with a 25-year manufacturer warranty on panels and a 2-year insurance-backed labour guarantee, you can rest assured that your investment is protected.

Qualifying for the ECO scheme

To qualify for a Solar Panel (PV) grant under the ECO scheme, you must own or privately rent your property and have the landlord’s permission to make the relevant changes. Eligible households must also have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of G, F or E and be on a low income or have an illness affected by the cold.

Using the Government's ECO scheme, eco-Home Network works with homeowners to claim ECO 4 grants. Suitable households can now obtain an ECO 4 grant depending on their current circumstances, property type, and EPC rating.

About the ECO Scheme

The ECO scheme is a government initiative to help households reduce their energy bills and carbon footprint by improving energy-efficient homes. The scheme is designed to help low-income households and those most vulnerable to the effects of cold weather. The ECO 4 grant is a type of funding available under the scheme that can be used to install solar panels in eligible households.

Eligibility for the ECO 4 Grant

To be eligible for the ECO 4 grant, your property must have an EPC rating of G, F, or E. An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a document that shows your home's energy efficiency. The rating ranges from A to G, with A being the most energy-efficient and G being the least. If your property has an EPC rating of D or above, you may still be eligible for other types of funding under the ECO scheme.

In addition to having an EPC rating of G, F, or E, you must also be on a low income or have an illness affected by the cold to be eligible for the ECO 4 grant. The Eco-Home Network can help you determine Eligibility for the grant and guide you through the application process.

Coverage of the ECO 4 Grant

The ECO 4 grant can cover the cost of installing solar panels in your home, including the cost of the panels, installation, and any necessary upgrades to your electrical system. The grant can also cover the cost of removing any existing solar panels or other renewable energy systems that may be in place.

Benefits of Solar Panels

One of the benefits of installing solar panels in your home is that they can generate electricity even on cloudy and overcast days. This means you can reduce your reliance on grid energy and save money on energy bills. In addition, any excess energy generated by your solar panels can be sold back to the grid, further reducing your energy costs.
